Russian President Vladimir Putin fielded many questions at his annual news conference. But amid the weighty queries from reporters about the fighting in Ukraine and other domestic issues, there also were the odd and lighter moments. Someone asked him what his license plate number was and whether love at first sight existed. Another reporter asked him if a comet approaching Earth could be a UFO, and reassured Putin that the city of Tyumen would be ready to welcome any extraterrestrial guests. A young TV journalist actually proposed to his girlfriend during his question to Putin. The event's anchors at the 4 1/2-hour session later passed along the news that she said yes.
