The team hosted a teddy-bear-toss event during a game earlier this season and donated all of the stuffed animals they received.

Players told us they were glad to take part and connect with the community.

"For me, it's such a special moment for us and the guys to be able to take a look at some of these children and some of the daily things they have to go through, we have no idea," said Guard Jarod Lucas. "But, to be able to go there and get a break from what they're going through and see a smile on their face is awesome for us."

The players told us that they enjoyed getting the opportunity to get a break from basketball and have the chance to put smiles on people's faces.

"Coming into the new year, it's a great way to start off 2024, doing something that is selfless, something that is not for ourselves, so it feels really good," said Power forward KJ Hymes.

The team plans on doing an event with Renown again next season to continue building strong relationships within the community.
