Crime Scene Tape with YPD badge

The Yerington Police Department reported to Raley's this morning following a report of a bomb threat at the store.

At around 8:10 a.m., officers from YPD along with deputies from the Lyon County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene.

When officials arrived, they were informed that an unidentified person called the store and demanded money under the threat of detonating an explosive device in the store.

Raley's let officials know that similar threats have been called in to other Raley's locations in California.

The store was temporarily evacuated, and the Consolidated Bomb Squad and Tahoe-Douglas Bomb Squad were able to sweep the building before they determined there was no threat.

The building has been deemed safe and was turned over to Raley's management to reopen.
