A staff member who works in the Legislative Building in Carson City has tested positive for COVID-19.

In an email from Risa Lang with the Legislative Counsel Bureau, health officials are working on contact tracing and will notify those who could have been exposed.

Officials ask those who have been in the building to diligently monitor their health.

"Remember to follow the requirements for working in the legislative buildings: (1) complete the health screening questionnaire before entering any of the legislative buildings, (2) wear a facemask any time you are not alone in your office, (3) keep an appropriate distance of at least 6 feet from others while in any of the buildings, and (4) exercise good hand hygiene," the email read.

"Your conduct and choices outside work time affect those around you in the building. During this time when we have so many people together in the legislative building, please remember to follow safe practices when you aren’t at work," the email concluded.
