New Trader Joe's

Grocery chain Trader Joe's has filed a permit to begin construction at The Summit Mall in south Reno. 

According to documents obtained by 2 News Nevada, plans are to demolish the inside of an existing space and build the new store within that existing space. 

Plans also state that the one-story store will be nearly 15,000-square feet. The address is listed is the old Orvis location. 

Western State Builders Inc., out of Lafayette, California, is listed as a contractor on the project.

There is no word yet on when construction might start or when the location is expected to open.
