I have worked in education for more than 20 years, and have earned a doctorate in it. . As Director of Fitness & Recreational Sports at the University of Nevada, Reno, I have experience leading people, budgets, programs, and community partnerships. My background in education and student development has prepared me to listen, collaborate, and make thoughtful, accountable decisions on behalf of students.

WHAT IS YOUR TOP PRIORITY IF ELECTED?

My top priority is ensuring every student has access to a safe, supportive school where they can learn, belong, and succeed. That means strengthening academic achievement while creating engaging schools where students feel connected, through quality physical education, recess and movement, strong extracurricular opportunities, clear and consistent conduct expectations, and practical strategies to address chronic absenteeism. I will also prioritize collaboration with educators, families, and community partners to ensure students and schools have the support they need to thrive.

IN JUST A FEW SENTENCES: WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM FACING THE SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND HOW WOULD YOU FIX IT?

One of the biggest challenges facing WCSD is ensuring that every student, regardless of background or circumstance, has consistent access to the support and opportunities they need to succeed. We should use data to identify where students are struggling, address barriers such as chronic absenteeism and disengagement, strengthen family and community partnerships, and hold ourselves accountable for measurable results. WCSD itself identifies academic growth, safety and belonging, strong partnerships, and accountability as central priorities.

I am an educator, community leader, and lifelong advocate for students, who will bring experience, accountability, and a collaborative approach to the school board.
