Roswell, New Mexico has been announced at the new host city of the National Championship Air Races.

The Reno Air Racing Association made the announcement in a press release on Thursday.

The City of Roswell will host the event starting in 2025.

“To know that Roswell will be the future home of the National Championship Air Races is a privilege and honor,” said Mike Espiritu, president and CEO for the Roswell-Chaves County Economic Development Corporation. “The event landing in Roswell is a testament to the collaboration and support of the region."

Fred Telling, CEO and chairman of the board for the Reno Air Racing Association said the selection process was difficult, mentioning Pueblo Colorado, and Casper Wyoming as other possible host cities that were considered.

“We’re thrilled to bring our honored tradition of racing to Roswell and are confident that they have both the enthusiasm and resources to expand the future of our races for many generations to come,” said Telling.

The event is set to continue featuring seven classes of racing as well as military demonstrations and other attractions.
