The Plumas County Sheriff's Office received a 9-1-1 call reporting a seven-year-old ingesting LSD Monday.
Deputies quickly responded to the call and the child was transported to a nearby medical center. The seven-year-old is reportedly in good health as of Friday.
PCSO initiated a thorough examination into the matter and determined that the substance was illegally possessed by the father, 38-year-old Michael Ontiveros of Greenville, who had stored the drug in an area that the child could reach.
On Wednesday, Plumas County District Attorney David Hollister filed a one count complaint against Ontiveros alleging he committed felony child abuse.
A warrant has been issued for Ontiveros' arrest, and deputies are still searching for him.
If you have any information regarding this case or the whereabouts of Michael Ontiveros, please contact the Plumas County Sheriff's Office at 530-283-6300.
