The Washoe County Sheriff's Office unveiled a new armored bearcat on Thursday.
They say it's the newest piece of public safety technology at the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office says the vehicle will help their special teams respond to rescue incidents, active shooters, barricaded suspects, and high-risk warrants.
The Lenco Armored Bearcat G3 unveiled Thursday is an upgrade for the sheriff's office after the first generation bearcat served the community for over two decades.
“Today is an exciting day for our team and our office because we’re advancing in technology with our equipment to make sure that our operators and our community are safe when we have to deploy,” Sheriff Darin Balaam said.
