The 7,695-acre Overland Fire located in White Pine County, about three miles west of the Bald Mountain Mine or five miles south of the Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge, is 91-percent contained. Full containment is expected by 6 p.m. Sunday night.
The lightning-ignited fire continues to smolder in mule deer, elk and pronghorn antelope habitat. The fire consumed pinion-juniper, brush and grasses. Approximately 81 acres of Greater Sage Grouse general habitat also burned.
