Investigators Believe Prison Employee Was in on Escape Plot

A prosecutor says authorities are learning "more and more information each day" from a prison employee in northern New York, about the escape of two killers and her involvement with them.

Prosecutor Andrew Wylie says Joyce Mitchell supplied some illegal items to the two men before their escape, but he's not saying what those items were -- except that they weren't the power tools used by the men to cut their way out.

It turns out that Mitchell had been investigated a while ago over suspicions that she had a relationship with one of the men.

Today, searchers are focusing on a rural area after residents reported seeing two men jumping a stone wall.

State troopers lined a rural road outside Dannemora on Friday morning. It's the seventh day of searching for escaped murderers David Sweat and Richard Matt. (AP)
