Sparks Police Chief Pete Krall retired on Thursday after more than 20 years in law enforcement.

"Working with over 160 people here is truly a special thing. We have a great department, we're very fortunate. So I'm going to miss the people for sure." Said Pete Krall

Krall has worked with the Sparks Police Department for 26 years and he says the department has been like a family to him.

Krall says that he doesn't have any immediate plans now that he's retired.

One of the current Deputy Chiefs, Chris Crawforth, has been selected to become the new Chief of Police.
