Sugar Bowl Resort and Royal Gorge Cross Country announced Friday they will open for the 2020-2021 winter season on November 27th.
Sugar Bowl Resort is planning on opening with six lifts from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., conditions permitting. Additional lifts and terrain will be added with additional snowfall.Â
Royal Gorge Cross Country plans to open November 27th exclusively season passholders due to shallow snowpack. A full opening date will be announced later.
The resorts have changed their policies because of COVID-19, and ask guests to arrive already familiar with them.
The updated policies include:

- There will be no walk-up, day of purchases for lift tickets, rentals, or lessons this season.
- Guests and staff must wear a face covering the whole time.
- Guests will be loaded four people on a chair lift at a time for related parties, and two people at a time for unrelated parties. No unrelated parties will   have to ride the same chair lift if they choose not to.Â
- Indoor access is limited to bathroom breaks, grab-and-go food purchases, and 15-minute warming breaks.Â
- Both resorts will be cashless this winter season.
- All staff members at both resorts will participate in daily health screenings.Â
