Did Washoe County School District Superintendent Traci Davis leak information in a lawsuit against her own school district?
Friday, the W.C.S.D released several documents including texts and emails surrounding a lawsuit linked to three former district employees. The district believes Davis provided 'conclusive' evidence that she did.Â
A letter from Chief General Counsel Neil Rombardo and School Board President Katy Simon Holland alleges that Davis, "deliberately, wantonly, willfully, recklessly, and/or with gross negligence provided or allowed access to confidential information" to three redacted names.Â
It is alleged that you deliberately, wantonly, willfully, recklessly, and/or with gross negligence:
? Provided or allowed access to confidential information from the Investigation to , , and/or , more specifically: o Documents; o Reports; o Email Communications; o Attorney Client-Privilege Communications; o Attorney Work Product; and/or o Verbal Communications among senior leadership.
? Assisted and in their complaints against the District by providing confidential information, by pushing their theories and/or arguments against the District to confound the Investigation, and/or sharing communications between you and , , and about the Investigation to support their complaints;
? Changed the findings of the Investigation as to , all of which was consistent with ’s arguments in complaints against the District and based on information you received from ;
? Created a work environment of fear of retaliation and/or harassment; and/or
? Failed to properly supervise and resulting in potential liability to the District.
All of the foregoing is contrary to your Employment Agreement,
The letter, Dated June 21 2019,  also accuses Davis of assisting 'redacted names' in their complaints against the district by providing confidential information 'by pushing their theories and/or arguments against  the District to confound the Investigation.'
Which investigation?Â
There are three major players here:Â
1) David Lasic, Chief of Staff
2) Byron Green-Chief Student Services Officer
3) Jenny Hunt- A former director in Special Education for the Washoe County School District
All three no longer employed with the WCSD.
In 2017, Hunt and Green were put on administrative leave for accusations of bullying and harassment. Green got his job back, however, Hunt did not. Hunt sued.Â
W.C.S.D. released texts and emails between Hunt, Lasic, and Green which the district believes shows the three were conspiring against the district.
So how is Traci Davis involved? The letter addressed to Davis last Friday states, "The District now possesses conclusive evidence, in (REDACTED) 's own words, that he received or accessed confidential information regarding the 'Investigation,' and that you (Davis) provided access to said information."
Also in the documents, Green disclosed that 'Traci (Davis)Â lives with Byron and David'.'
There will be a public meeting to discuss Davis' employment as Superintendent Monday, July 1, 2019.Â
