The Nevada Department of Corrections says an inmate died Saturday at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City.
Authorities say 58-year-old Pedro Mejia died in the Hospice Unit in the Northern Nevada Correctional Center just before 5:45 a.m.
Mejia was committed from Clark County serving 60-240 months for attempted sexual assault.
NDOC say Mejia, who is not a U.S. citizen, arrived at the NDOC on August 17, 2010.
An autopsy is being scheduled to determine the cause of death.
Family members were notified.
