The Washoe County School District now has an online COVID-19 case tracker posted on its homepage

WCSD says it will post updates on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Specifically, the WCSD posted this information on its homepage:

"The WCSD COVID Data Dashboard will be updated, pending data availability, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday of each week. Including a link to the TMRPA Risk Meter and some of the data that is used to develop the TMRPA Risk Rating, displayed is information pertaining to community wide school aged children, and school district specific students and staff. Questions regarding the displayed information should be sent to covidquestions@washoeschools.net."

WCSD Superintendent Kristen McNeil also talked about flu season during a phone call on Friday.

She said many families are doing a good job screening their kids and themselves.

She also mentioned since the symptoms for the flu and COVID are so similar, the Washoe County Health District will be involved in the process.

“Student health service will be working with the health district so if when a student comes to school or a staff member comes to work and they get sick at school, we will kick in to gear on what those protocols would be.”
