With seventeen days until election day, campaign stops from both parties continue to ramp up in northern Nevada.

Doug Emhoff made several stops in Reno Friday to motivate supporters to canvass, knock on doors, make phone calls, and gather voter data.

Emhoff started the day off at Washoe County Democratic Headquarters to cheer on and speak with phone bankers. "Frozen" actor and Grammy winner Josh Gad was also there.

"We can run and win all seven swing states by showing up and coming out. I tell Dems always don't wring your hands, get out there and knock on doors, and match the energy and intensity of my wife. The crowd cheers," said Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff.

Emhoff's second stop was at the Harris-Walz campaign field office in Sparks.

"We have 18 days, that's it, so I will do this literally. I'm losing my voice. I don't care how tired I get. When people ask me if I must be tired, I say well, so should you be. We should all be tired, we should all be exhausted, we should all be thinking about what else we can do," said Emhoff.

We spoke to Stacey Johnson-Batiste and her mom, Doris, who were phone banking. Stacey is more than just a supporter...

"Kamala and I first met in kindergarten. We've been close friends ever since kindergarten. We used to live together; we're super, super close, and what we're doing today is my mom and I came out to do some phone banking for her; we know it's crunch time and also to meet our wonderful second gentleman," said Stacey Johnson-batiste.

Their top issues were the climate, affordable housing, and saving democracy.

"The number one is saving our Democracy. To me, that is saving our freedom, and I wish everyone would get out there and vote. And I hope everyone understands what that means," said Doris Johnson.

The Trump campaign provided us with the following statement:

"Doug Emhoff has consistently stood by Kamala Harris' failed policies, policies that have devastated Nevadans. His visit to the state won't hide the fact that Nevada families are still suffering from nearly four years of Kamala Harris in office. Hardworking Americans are reeling from the economic pain caused by this administration's dangerously liberal policies. When President Trump is re-elected on November 5th, we will send Doug Emhoff and Kamala Harris back to radically liberal California and reverse the damage Harris has done to this state."

We asked the Harris-Walz campaign for a statement on the UNR volleyball team. As we reported this week, the UNR volleyball team is planning to forfeit a game against San Jose State because it has a trans athlete on its roster.

More top names in the Democratic party will be in Northern Nevada.

On Saturday, Gwen Walz and actress Jennifer Garners will campaign for reproductive rights in Reno and Carson City.Â
