The Sierra Junior Tennis Association will be hosting two free 'Introduction to Tennis' lesson programs for kids that will be open for registration twice a month, on Saturdays, the first one beginning on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
Both programs are free and will be open for enrollment twice a month on Saturdays through October.
The first program is open to kids five to 10 years of age, and the second is open to kids 11-18 years of age. They will both be held at the Oppio Park Tennis and Pickleball Courts at 1900 Sullivan Lane in Sparks.
Organizers say the 10 years and under lesson, which runs from 9 to 10 a.m., is an opportunity for kids to learn to play tennis quickly, make new friends, and hopefully develop a love for the game by using small courts, racquets, and larger balls.
The 11-18-year-old lesson runs from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. and introduces kids that are new to tennis to a great program that could turn into a lifetime sport while helping them get to the next level.
The lessons are limited to 20 kids, so early registration is encouraged to secure a spot. You can register for one of the lessons by clicking here.
