The annual New Year's Eve fireworks show in Las Vegas is canceled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority said in a statement Thursday that it would cancel its normal New Year’s Eve fireworks show out of caution for the safety and security of its guests and employees, but said it has planned other ways to welcome 2021.
Meanwhile, individual hotels and casinos are free to launch their own fireworks independently.
