Truckee Police say an eight-year-old girl helped save her mother by calling 911 Wednesday morning.
Police say the girl, Eva, provided dispatchers her location, and what was happening.
Soon after, Truckee Police officers arrived to find Eva with her mother nearly unconscious on the floor after an undisclosed medical episode.
Authorities say medical personnel gave the mother the help she needed, and say she is expected to be fine.
For Eva’s part, she received a goody bag when she arrived at her bus stop Wednesday afternoon from Detective Madden.
Police say, “We decided to take this opportunity to thank Eva for her quick thinking, as well as to remind all citizens that it is very important to know emergency information such as when to call 911, knowing your address, and providing other details to operators. “
