New data on 'game-changer' stroke drug
Nearly 800,000 people a year have a stroke in the U.S. and nearly one in four happen in patients who have had a previous stroke, according to the CDC. But today, new data was released on the study of a new, investigational drug, which could help prevent some strokes from happening again, without the side effects of traditional therapies. In today’s Health Minute, Mandy Gaither talks to one of the researchers about how this new medicine is different and why he says this could be a “game-changer” for some stroke survivors.
