A McDermitt woman faces a murder charge in connection with a man's shooting death in Winnemucca earlier this year.
The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office says 25-year-old Chandra Catches was originally arrested as a person of interest in the death of 57-year-old Kevin Hummel near Lambert Drive around March 18.
At the time, Catches was arrested and charged with being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen car.
Authorities say a subsequent investigation revealed Catches as the primary suspect.
Catches is currently being held in the Humboldt County Detention Center without bail.
Anyone with any information on the case is urged to contact the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office at (775) 623-6419.
Officials said there is no threat to the community.
