The Wylie Animal Rescue Foundation (WARF) is hosting their Pouring For Paws event on Sunday at New West Distributing in Sparks.
The event will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The fundraiser will help them build a new sanctuary at a 20-acre parcel they purchased in Stagecoach. They currently have nowhere to house at-risk animals long-term after the Tahoe Vista Shelter closed in 2015.
They've been relying on foster families and have teamed up with the Hidden Valley Horse Protection Fund to dedicate a portion of the Stagecoach sanctuary to housing wild horses otherwise destined for slaughter.
Catering will be provided by CoCoMoes and local band Under the Radar will be playing at the event. Vegan and vegetarian menus will be provided as well.Â
Raffle prizes will include items from local businesses and a silent auction will feature luxury prizes such as a stay at Walley's Resort, a two-night package at the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe and more.
