Two people have been arrested by the Elko Combined Narcotics Unit and the Nevada Highway Patrol for illegal drugs, firearms possession, and stolen car violations in Wells, Nevada.

On January 30, 2019 NHP officials stopped a brown Dodge pickup for speeding in Wells in eastern Nevada.

Authorities say the car, driven by Sheila Villalobos, was subsequently determined to be stolen out of Utah.

During the ensuing investigation, officers say they also found methamphetamine and a handgun inside the car.

Authorities say Villalobos and a passenger, Bernal Montes, were arrested for narcotics, firearms and stolen vehicle violations and were subsequently booked into the Elko County jail, with a bail of $300,000.00 for Villalobos and $280,000.00 for Montes.

On February 15, 2019, members of the Elko Combined Narcotics Task Force say they served a search warrant on the vehicle and recovered almost 3 pounds of methamphetamine and .55 grams of heroin hidden inside.

The matter was ultimately referred to the Elko County District Attorney’s Office which filed criminal charges on Montes and Villalobos.

On March 1, 2019, Montes and Villalobos appeared for a preliminary hearing in the Elko County Justice Court, and the case was bound over to the Elko County District Court.
