Wayne Burgarello's arraignment has been postponed until next week on charges of murder and attempted murder in the shooting of unarmed trespassers at a home he owned in Sparks.
Â
The 73-year-old former school teacher had been scheduled to go before Washoe District Judge Patrick Flanagan on Wednesday, but the court date has been pushed back until Sept. 10.
Â
Burgarello was released from jail last week when he posted $150,000 bail that had been reduced from $2 million.
Â
He was arrested in May in the killing of 34-year-old Cody Devine and the serious wounding of a woman he found inside his often-burglarized, vacant duplex in February.
Â
Burgarello claims he was acting in self-defense in the case that has drawn attention to Nevada's "stand your ground" law. (AP)
