The Mammoth Lakes Police Department reports that a shooting occurred on Hillside Drive in Mammoth Lakes on Wednesday around 11:25Â a.m.
They said they responded to a 911 call from an individual who had been shot in his home.
When they arrived on scene, they were met with the victim who had been shot in the stomach.
The victim said he was shot by another man in the residence but was able to wrestle control of the gun away from him and returned fire.
The victim was transported to Mammoth Hospital and was stabilized for transportation to Reno.
Mammoth Lakes Police said they were waiting for a forensic team to arrive as of Wednesday afternoon. They said the other individual was still inside the home and was presumed dead.
