Saturday afternoon the Nevada Department of Wildlife the mother bear trapped in Incline Village that they have been holding since Wednesday in hopes of reuniting her with her cub first.

Wednesday morning NDOW tranquilized the small female bear to safely remove her from Incline High School. It was determined that she had been captured before, on Sunday, with her cub. They had been captured in Carson City and released in to Little Valley on Monday morning.

In an attempt to capture her cub and release them together, the mother bear was placed in a family trap on the Incline High School Football Field Wednesday afternoon.

The cub has not been spotted in the area since the incident. Saturday afternoon, NDOW fitted the mother bear with a satellite collar and released her in Little Valley without incident at the same location where she and her cub were released on Monday morning. If the cub is found and captured, they will use the satellite collar on the mother to find her and reunite them.Â
