The Kiwanis Club of Lake Tahoe made a $30,000 donation to the City of South Lake Tahoe and the South Tahoe Parks Foundation.

The donation will support their new Recreation and Aquatics Center, according to a release from the City of South Lake Tahoe.

The contribution will secure the naming rights of two gymnasium scoreboards, honoring a long-time Kiwanis member, Bob Baunhauser, with one scoreboard featuring “In Memory of Bob Baunhauser” and the other displaying “Kiwanis Club of Lake Tahoe.”

This latest donation brings the amount donated by the Kiwanis Club to $50,000 after a $20,000 donation in April of last year.

“The Kiwanis Club of Lake Tahoe has a long-standing tradition of giving back to our community, and their commitment to sponsor the naming of the gymnasium scoreboards is a meaningful and lasting investment in this facility,” said John Stark, Director of Parks and Recreation. “The naming recognition will honor a community member whose impact continues to be felt.”
