The Bureau of Land Management has approved the County Line Gold and Silver Mine project on 452 acres of public land near Gabbs, located in Nye and Mineral counties.
The mine is expected to produce 4.4 million tons of minerals over a four-year period and will employ a contract mining company, according to BLM officials.
“This project is an economic infusion for the local community and supports efforts to boost domestic mineral production in the nation,” said BLM Carson City District Manager Kimberly Dow.
County Line Minerals Corp. is authorized to expand two existing open pit mines and a waste rock storage facility.
The company may also construct two new in-pit waste rock storage facilities, as well as growth media stockpiles, low- and high-grade ore stockpiles, stormwater controls, an access road, and crushing and ancillary facilities.
The ore extracted from the site will be transported to the Isabella Pearl Mine near Hawthorne for processing.
Additional project details, including the environmental assessment, are available on the BLM National NEPA Register page.
