The Nevada Violent Offender Task Force arrested a man wanted on a felony warrant for failing to register as a sex offender out of Dayton, Ohio, earlier this month.

Scott Conley was arrested on the warrant on July 1, according to a release from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office.

Conley was required to register due to a conviction for encouraging child sex abuse in the second degree.

The warrant was issued on April 20, and a lead was given to the Nevada Violent Offender Task Force indicating Conley could have been located in Winnemucca.

The arrest came amid an ongoing investigation by members of the Regional Sex Offender Notification Unit, who serve on the Nevada Violent Offender Task Force in partnership with the United States Marshals Service and the Nevada Department of Public Safety.

Conley was taken into custody in Winnemucca and taken to the Humboldt County Detention Facility, where he was booked into custody.

When he was booked, Conley was awaiting a court date for a sex offender failure to register charge out of Winnemucca.
