Hello, North Valleys High School families,
This is Principal Tomas Macaluso, and I want you to be aware that our school was placed on a lockdown today, Thursday, May 7, when we learned of a possible threat near or on our campus.
We declared a lockdown and are keeping our students and staff in their classrooms while school police and the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office conducts a thorough search of the area.
Students are safe, and are being held on campus until School Police allow their release. Please don’t come to the building until you receive further information from the district.
I appreciate your concern and cooperation, and I thank you for your patience as we work through this situation.
Once again—everyone is safe. We will contact you once students are cleared for release.
Thank you.
