The pedestrian killed while walking on I-580 near Washoe Valley last week has been identified as a Reno woman. 

Nevada Highway Patrol says 34-year-old April Hatton died after she was hit by a car heading north on I-580 between North Carson Street and Eastlake Boulevard, just before 5:30 p.m. last Wednesday.

NHP says Hatton was walking in the middle lane when she was initially hit by the first car - and then by additional cars.

She died on scene.

An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was killed on I-580 in Washoe Valley early Wednesday evening.

Nevada Highway Patrol says the incident happened on I-580 between North Carson Street and Eastlake Boulevard just before 5:30 p.m.

NHP says the pedestrian, a woman, was walking on the roadway when she was hit by a car going northbound.

The unidentified woman died on scene.
