Inspired by old-time Nevada and the West, three years ago, Christian Webber and Collin Bernard created a company called Curly Wolf. The partners describe it as a lifestyle brand that offers apparel, home goods, coffee, and entertainment.
In 2020, Curly Wolf got the attention of The White House during “Made in America Week”. We caught up with the Nevada natives to learn how things are going now.
"Curly Wolf is an old 1800’s Western term for a fearless, confident individual,” explains Christian Webber, when we ask about the curious name.
You'll see it on the hats and clothes they sell and wear - the letters CW, and the words Curly Wolf. "Because we are based in Reno, Nevada,” continues Webber, “We think our roots here represent and highlight a lot of Western-American history."
Their personal history plays a part, too, shares Collin Bernard. "We've known each other for well over ten years, we played sports together, went through high school together, college together - we almost look at each other as yin and yang."
That philosophy is working. In its first year, the business got a boost when the Trump administration chose Curly Wolf to Represent Nevada for "Made In America Week”.
"We take great pride in prioritizing making things American first, we exhaust all options we can when it comes to producing our tees, our hoodies, our hats,” Webber tells us.
"We started with apparel,” continues Bernard, “Eventually our goal was to get into entertainment and now we got this concert - Harvest Moon."
The music festival is something they hope to repeat and expand on, plus Webber and Bernard want to take the business beyond the U.S borders. "We have hopes this upcoming year to launch internationally and we get question all the time, messages from people in Germany - and all across the board looking for Curly Wolf.”
The more people along for the ride, the better. The guys say that's their mission and motto – "We’re All Passengers”.
"We believe that no matter where you're from, where you're headed, what your goals are, what your lifestyle is,” exudes Bernard, “At the end of the day, we're all passengers on this ride called life.”
