Sun Valley will serve as a summer gathering spot on Friday evening at Sun Valley Community Park as a Dive Into Summer event offers free food, music, and activities open to community members.
According to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office in an online post, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office and the Sun Valley General Improvement District will host the Dive Into Summer event Friday, June 5, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Sun Valley Community Park.
The event, which kicks off the 2026 pool and recreation season, will also give people a chance to meet first responders and community partners while viewing emergency responder equipment and visiting community resource booths.
Additional activities will include free hot dogs, chips and soda, music, face painting, recreation demonstrations, $1 raffle tickets for prize drawings, and a limited number of Sun Valley pool tokens.
No alcohol, smoking, or vaping is allowed, and all service dogs must be
leashed.Â
