The Elko Police Department has released new information about a stabbing suspect.
Police say Shelly Carabello was arrested on charges of attempted murder after stabbing someone who was walking his dog Tuesday afternoon.
Officers were called to the 600 block of Cedar Street, where Carabello reportedly attacked the man, accusing him of raping her years now.
Authorities believe the 59-year-old was experiencing mental health issues prior to the incident.
The victim was transported to Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Carabello is currently being held at the Elko County Jail on an attempted murder charge, with bail set at $100,000.
