College basketball is officially back, and the Wolf Pack held its home opener against a non-conference opponent, the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, at the Lawlor Events Center.

The Pack was dominant in a 77–50 victory — a great way to start the season off. Chuck Bailey III was the scoring leader with 24 points, shooting 7-for-11.

The Pack also did not allow a 10-point scorer on the Bulldogs, who shot 36% from the field.

Fans, students, and alumni were all excited for Wolf Pack Basketball to be back.

"Honestly, I'm glad that Pack Basketball is back. I've been a supporter all my life. It gives you something to do in the winter and just root for our boys. And hopefully, we make a run for March Madness," said Eloy Barriga, a Reno student.

"I'm super excited. This is something our family does every season — move up to get out and see everybody from the community," said Lori Windfeld, season ticket holder.

"I'm super grateful. Without the community, we wouldn't be where we are. To be able to support the university back, I'm super grateful," said Kurtis Tan, a university alumnus.

We also got to hear the excitement from someone whose job it is to get everyone else excited — the Wolf Pack Student Section DJ, "DJ Ryon."

"I'm so excited to be back. Our team's playing really good. Excited to play for them. We got some really fun music pretty much the whole game to get everybody hyped up and ready to watch some basketball again," said Ryon Hodges.

The Pack is back in action this Saturday, November 8, at the Lawlor Events Center against Pacific University.
