"Night Off the Streets" will soon start its seventh year providing a place to stay warm for people experiencing homelessness.

Ahead of the shelter opening on November 1st, they held their second volunteer training session on Saturday in Carson City.

The training sessions give volunteers a look at the different shifts they could be working.

"Sometimes people I think get this negative connotation, this stigma, associated with the center, with a homeless shelter and it's really for the most part quiet," said Jodi Miller, Center Manager for "Night Off the Streets."

The warming center is open from November 1st through March 31st.

Although training sessions are over, volunteers are encouraged to reach out to the organization for future opportunities.
