Washoe County Deputies Help Clean Veterans Parkway Bike Path

Washoe County Deputies helped clean up the Veterans Parkway Bike Path Tunnel and assisted those in a nearby homeless encampment.

Deputies say the Homeless Outreach Proactive Engagement (HOPE) Team had been working with homeless people living in the tunnel in recent months.

After helping the last person living in the encampment find a new place to live, inmate work crews helped remove trash and relocate belongings and paint over graffiti.

The county's roads department provided heavy equipment for the cleanup as well.

(The Washoe County Sheriff's Office assisted in this story.)
