Ticket holders for the upcoming Nitro Circus in Reno, will have to wait a little longer to watch the show.

Organizers announced all performances have been pushed back to Monday, May 9th and Tuesday, May 10th , due to weather expected on the original performance dates.

Cam Zink, a Nitro Circus athlete, says thunderstorms and rain make for an unsafe environment for the fans and the athletes as well.

"To perform at that level and to do all the new tricks and progress the sport, you have to make it as safe as you possibly can," says Zink.

Zink is a Reno native, mountain bike specialist, and world record holder for his 100 foot mountain bike back flip.

However, even this action sport dare-devil knows that it's time to call it quits when dangerous weather hits.

Jolene Pellant, the Nitro Circus head of marketing, says safety is the number one priority for the fans and athletes, which is why postponing the event a few days was a no-brainer for event organizers.

"We just don't want to put our riders in harm’s way, they wouldn't be able to ride, the surface is too slick, too much possibility for injury," says Pellant.

A ticket for the Thursday show, is now good for Tuesday, May 10th.

A ticket for the Friday show, will be good for Monday, May 9th.

Gates open to the general public at Greater Nevada Field each day at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
