A roll-over accident at Prater Way and Ninth Street closed traffic from 1 street to Pyramid for about an hour just after 5:30 p.m. tonight.
The vehicle was traveling east bound on Prater Way and for unknown reasons went out of control and struck the curb of a median and rolled over, destroying several trees in the process.Â
When officers arrived, the vehicle was on its roof and the driver was still inside complaining of pain in one arm.
Once crews were able to get the driver out of the vehicle he was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.Â
The driver is identified as Rafael Perez-Vasquez, age 25.Â
At this time, alcohol does not not appear to be a factor. Officers are continuing to investigate other possibilities including excessive speed and that investigation is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Sparks Police traffic section at 353-2432.
