'Things 2 Do!' This Weekend

Are you ready for some land-based oysters, a dip in the icy waters of Lake Tahoe, and drink all the green beer you can handle? Then this week's 'Things 2 Do' is for you!

The 27th annual Rocky Mountain Oyster Festival is this weekend in Virginia City! And no, we're not talking sea-based oysters; this is a festival of the testicle! Try it in a taco, chopped, grilled, or my favorite, deep fried! And because it’s also St. Patrick's Day, they will be holding an Irish parade and their famous ball breaker saloon crawl! The fun starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday in downtown Virginia City! For more information, click here.

Speaking of St. Patrick's Day, grab your lucky charms and get ready to shake your shamrocks! The 6th annual Leprechaun Crawl is hitting Reno with 30 bars, hundreds of drink specials for just a bit-o-gold, hotel discounts, and best of all the costume contests! The fun starts 8 p.m. at the Headquarters bar in downtown Reno. Keep calm and leprechaun on!

Have you ever thought that it would be fun to see a bunch of lawyers go head to head? Who wouldn't? Well, that's exactly what is happening this Saturday at the Children's Cancer Classic in the Reno Event Center, as the Washoe County District Attorney's office faces off against the Washoe County Public defenders in a game of basketball for charity! The proceeds will go to the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation. That's at 12:30 p.m. this Saturday at the Reno Events Center. For more information, click here.

Are you ready to feel the thrill of the chill? Start off St. Patrick's Day with a splash at this year’s annual polar plunge, where hundreds of swimmers will dive into icy cold Lake Tahoe to support local Special Olympics athletes! Last year the events combined pledges reached more than 150-thousand dollars-- and those involved expect to raise even more this year! The plunge starts Saturday at 10 am at zephyr cove in Lake Tahoe, don't forget to wear green!! For more info on that, click here.
