The Nugget Casino Resort is laying off 154 employees, according to a letter obtained by 2 News.
In the letter, officials say the layoff affects less than 33 percent of employees required for the WARN act purposes.
The letter states out of an abundance of caution, Nugget Casino Resort opted to proved WARN Act notices to the Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation (DETR).
The effective date of the layoff is November 15 and the layoffs will be permanent.
