Hazy skies kick off Wednesday morning with light wind and chilly 30s and 40s. Light winds Wednesday morning means that the haze will continue before clearing up more this afternoon with winds picking up to 5-15mph. With lighter winds expected for Wednesday some of the haze could continue. The Air Quality Index has Reno in the moderate category this morning so if you are sensitive to the air quality limit strenuous outdoor activities.
Wednesdays highs will build to about ten degrees above average with overall calm weather conditions. Afternoon highs in Nevada will reach mid 70s with upper 50s and lower 60s in store for higher elevations.
The cooling trend starts on Thursday with cooler air and moisture tracking into the region. Most of the showers on Thursday will favor Northern California mountain ranges before building along the Sierra on Friday. Chances for showers will be on the increase to a 60% chance for showers in the Truckee Meadows and Carson Valley Friday.
