WINNEMUCCA, Nev. (AP) -- A 20-year-old man arrested last week in Winnemucca has been extradited to California to face charges in connection with a carjacking spree and alleged kidnapping in January in San Mateo County.
Â
Winnemucca police say Armando Mendoza, formerly of Oakland, California, was arrested July 25 at his new home in Winnemucca after his vehicle was spotted in a Walmart parking lot.
Â
He was extradited earlier this week to the San Mateo County Jail, where he was being held without bail on a warrant for his arrest as a fugitive from justice.
Â
Authorities say he evaded police in two stolen cars in January and briefly kidnapped a woman near Half Moon Bay.
