Lake Tahoe Cruises has decided to temporarily suspend cruise operations at Lake Tahoe due to low water levels.
Aramark, which operates the cruises made the decision to suspend operations on Monday. The suspension affects the sightseeing and dinner cruises it operates – 2 paddlewheelers and 1 yacht.
The company will refund any existing reservations - and apologizes for the inconvenience.
It released this statement:
“After evaluating the water level data and assessing the boating channels, we made the decision to suspend our cruises on Lake Tahoe. We will continue to monitor the lake's water level and will resume cruise service once the water level rises to the depth needed for the vessels to safely navigate the lake.”
Last august the Tahoe Queen was grounded forcing hundreds of passengers to evacuate the vessel.
