Secured Campus status has been lifted at Lois Allen Elementary School, and the school has resumed normal operations.
The Washoe County School District posted the initial announcement on its website at 12:51 p.m. on Thursday with the update at 1:35 p.m.
According to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, deputies were in the area investigating a possible assault in Sun Valley.
The disturbance did not occur on the Lois Allen campus and was not connected to the school.

This is a message from Principal Jill Dickey. Â
I want you to be aware that there was a report of police activity near our school today. We notified school police and placed the campus on a brief Secured Campus to ensure everyone was safe. During this incident, teaching and learning continued in our classrooms. Â
I would like to reassure you that our school police department works in partnership with our local law enforcement agencies to investigate all allegations in situations like this. Earlier this week, the school was placed on a different secured campus after a body was found outside the school. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation and says that it is not being investigated as suspicious.
