A man has been arrested in Eureka County on allegations of attempting to lure a minor.

According to a post from the Eureka County Sheriff's Office on Facebook 39-year-old Nicholas Sommerfield of Crescent Valley was arrested after allegedly messaging a 13-year-old girl seeking a romantic and sexual relationship.

The Eureka County Sheriff’s Office, Nevada State Police Investigation Division, and the Carlin Police Department arrested Sommerfield while he was at work in Carlin.

He is being held on charges including lure a child with the use of computer technology, lure a child with the use of computer technology involving material harmful to minor, lure a child with the use of computer technology to engage in sexual conduct and convicted person fail to register with law enforcement within 48 hours.

His bail has been set at $175,000.
