A date is now in place for the implosion of the historic Tropicana Las Vegas.
The implosion is set for the pre-dawn hours of October 9, pending approvals.
This will mark the end of the demolition of the property, which began soon after it closed earlier this year, in April.
Before the implosion starts, the hotel's operator Bally's and the Oakland Athletics will host a commemorative event featuring a fireworks display.
The removal of the historic resort paves the way for a new baseball stadium to host the Athletics for future seasons.
Team officials say they expect to being construction of the stadium next year, and are hoping to have it completed in time for the 2028 Major League season.
