The Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline has filed formal charges against Nye County judge Michele Fiore alleging she violated the state's judicial code of conduct.Â
In its April 24 decision, the commission charged Fiore with three counts related to her fraud case where she was found guilty by a jury of conspiracy and wire fraud in 2024.
Fiore was later pardoned by President Trump after being convicted of defrauding donors in a failed statue project meant to honor a fallen police officer.
"Judge Fiore's actions constitute either knowing and deliberate violations of the Code or violations that were not knowing and deliberate. Both types of violations are contrary to the 20 form, force and effect of the Revised Nevada Code of Judicial Conduct," the commission's decision reads.
Last month, the Nevada Supreme Court upheld her suspension with pay.
She's currently running for re-election in Nye County.
JULY 4, 2025
Pahrump Justice of the Peace Michele Fiore has been granted a temporary reprieve from punishment after being suspended without pay in May.
According to a order published by the Nevada Supreme Court, a petition has been filed by Fiore that challenges the Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline's (the Commission) jurisdiction regarding complaints made against Fiore in her position as a judge.
The court ruled that a response from the Commission would help to clarify, and has given them 28 days to file and serve an answer to the petition.
After that, Fiore will have 14 days to file any replies.
Fiore also filed an emergency motion to stay the proceedings until the petition is resolved, which was granted by the Nevada Supreme Court. This means that any current punishment being handed down by the Commission will be suspended.
