The Cancer Community Clubhouse hosted its fourth annual National Cancer Survivors Day celebration on Sunday.

The event featured live music, games, informational booths and more.

Some cancer survivors we spoke with say that events like these are a fun way to connect with others and celebrate the difficult challenges they have been through.

"It's really to celebrate the resilience that we have as survivors as we move through these very difficult treatments and then to have this day where we can bring the equal and opposite energy of what cancer treatment normally brings," said Natalie Stevenson.

Other people say that, joining the Cancer Community Clubhouse taught them the importance of connecting with others, instead of fighting these battles alone.

"I was really struggling and most people who are diagnosed with cancer really struggle especially in the very beginning, and I have found that reaching out and connecting with the community, the cancer community that is, has really been helpful. I have made so many friends," said Jamie Vaughn.

The Cancer Community Clubhouse hosts other events throughout the year as well.

They also plan on opening their own location soon where people can hang out and take part in group activities that promote strengthening mental health.

Members of the organization feel that being able to connect with other cancer survivors is very important, as they know what it truly feels like to battle cancer.
